Yes, as of October 1, 2016 there will be 5 new approved qualifying conditions added to the list. Cerebral Palsy, Cystic Fibrosis, Irreversible Spinal Cord Injury with Objective Neurological Indication of Intractable Spasticity, Terminal Illlness requiring End-Of-Life Care, and Uncontrolled Intractable Seizure Disorder.
The process for adding new conditions is that first a petition is completed, followed by a public hearing and then reviewed and voted on by a Board of Physicians.   The Commissioner will make the final determination. The Board of Physicians meets at least twice each year to review and hold public hearings.
